I’m Taking on the Extra Challenge!

I’ve signed up for Run the Runway and have chosen to raise funds for the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter.

Why I’m fundraising:

I started Hauora Club as a free community movement club here in Tauranga Moana, creating a space for people to move, connect and feel like they belong. It’s grown into something that means so much to me, and with how much our people support me and the club, I want to give some of that support back.

Some of our Hauora Club whānau have shared with me that their partners, kids or siblings have needed the rescue helicopter before. Hearing those stories made this one feel especially close to home.

So I’ll be running Run the Runway for them, for the people who continue to support Hauora Club, and for the next whānau who might unexpectedly find themselves needing this incredible service. 

If raising a little bit of money can help make sure that helicopter is there when somebody needs it most, then the 5km is the easy part 😂

About the service:

The Aerocool Rescue Helicopter is a fully-fledged air emergency medical service that services the whole of the Bay of Plenty region. It brings life-saving equipment and rescue personnel directly to patients, 24/7, 365 days a year, and is staffed by an amazing & experienced crew of Critical Care Flight Paramedics (CCFP), Air Crew Officers and Pilots.

Donations from fundraising helps ensure the rescue helicopter can continue to carry out life-saving missions, whenever and wherever needed. Because you never know when you’ll need your rescue helicopter.
