I'm fundraising for the Grassroots Trust Rescue Helicopter
What I will be doing: Land based & Boating Fishing Event
I want to do this because: The Akitio Boating club has been a loyal supporter of the Grassroots Trust Rescue Helicopter for many years now. A remote rural settlement located 1 hour east of Dannevirke on the coast Akitio relies heavily on the rescue helicopter in emergency situations. The residents of Akitio and its surrounding settlement's are passionate about raising funds to help continue a life saving service that has helped their community multiple times in the past. As the local boating club we are excited to facilitate this fundraiser again this year, we are excited to get stuck into the fundraising in the way we know best ! Bring on the fishing fundraiser 2025!
About this service: The Grassroots Trust Rescue Helicopter is a fully-fledged air emergency medical service that services the Manawatu and Whanganui region in the North Island. It brings life-saving equipment and rescue personnel directly to patients, 24/7, 365 days a year, and is staffed by an amazing & experienced crew of Critical Care Flight Paramedics (CCFP), Air Crew Officers and Pilots. Donations from fundraising go towards the operational costs, which helps ensure the rescue helicopter can continue to carry out life-saving missions, whenever and wherever needed.
