We are inclusive of all volunteers. If you enjoy meeting people, have a positive attitude, and a willingness to help - we would love to have you on board!

There are many ways to support the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter. Feet on the ground are vital to the success of our events - whether shaking buckets, sizzling sausages, or assisting with traffic control and parking. Time is a precious commodity and giving the gift of your time is extremely appreciated by the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

Whether you are an individual, club, school, organisation, or workplace looking to make an impact, we would love to have you as a Heli Helper to ensure our events are nothing short of spectacular!

1. When are your events?

Follow our socials to see what is happening when, or our Community Fundraising Coordinator may contact you via email to share upcoming events. Most of our events are held during the weekends and event duration can vary from a few hours to a full day.

2. What support do you provide?

All equipment, a Philips Search and Rescue Trust staff member who will be available prior to and on-site during event for support, details of the event, role required, Health and Safety rules, volunteer badge, statistics and information regarding the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

3. Travel Arrangements?

All travel to and from the event is the sole responsibility of the Heli Helper.

4. Do I need Police vetting?

To be a volunteer you may be required to complete a Police Vetting Form. 

5. Physical support arrangements?

An explanation of what is required at each event will be provided prior to signing up so individuals can judge whether it is viable for them to participate.
