The history of Philips Search and Rescue trust
In 1985, two Philips NZ Ltd employees and a pilot tragically lost their lives in a small aircraft crash. It was clear that if a rescue service had been available, they might’ve survived.
In their honour, Philips NZ Ltd established an endowment and the Philips Search and Rescue Trust was formed with the goal of providing kiwis with the highest standard of air rescue and emergency services.
Over the years, we’ve been proud to support the extraordinary work of the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter.

The most common ways to leave a Legacy gift are:
- A specific sum of money that suits your circumstances. Any amount has an amazing impact.
- A percentage of your estate - from 1% to 100%. This is formally known as a residuary gift. Even 1% can help save lives in your community.
