I'm fundraising for The Greenlea Rescue Helicopter
What I will be doing: Every year at the Porsche Club Weekend of the Year, we fundraise for a local charity. Traditionally we have received donations from attendees at WOTY only, but this year we are seeking donations from Porsche Club members NZ wide, for this very worthy cause.
I want to do this because:When a group of us were driving to Manfeild for a trackday, we witnessed the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter in action. They landed the helicopter on the road in front of us and airlifted an injured motorist to hospital. As a car club, our members may find themselves in need of these services one day, so we think the Greenlea Helicopter is an appropriate charity for us.
About this service: The Greenlea Rescue Helicopter is a fully-fledged air emergency medical service that services the Central Plateau & Lakes region across the Central North Island. It brings life-saving equipment and rescue personnel directly to patients, 24/7, 365 days a year, and is staffed by an amazing & experienced crew of Critical Care Flight Paramedics (CCFP), Crewmen and Pilots. Donations from fundraising go towards the operational costs, which helps ensure the rescue helicopter can continue to carry out life-saving missions, whenever and wherever needed.
